By placing an order through our webshop, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
1. General Information
Rhizome Ceramics sells handmade and/or ceramic products through its online webshop.
These Terms and Conditions define the rights and obligations of both the customer and Rhizome Ceramics when purchasing products through the webshop.
The webshop is intended for consumers and businesses. By placing an order, the customer confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
2. Products and Product Information
We make every effort to provide accurate descriptions, images, dimensions, and information about our products.
Because many of our ceramic items are handmade, slight variations in:
- colour,
- shape,
- texture,
- glaze effects,
- size,
- small imperfections,
may occur. These variations are a natural characteristic of handmade ceramics and do not constitute defects.
Product images are intended to provide a realistic impression, but colours may vary depending on screen settings.
3. Orders
An order is placed when the customer completes the checkout process and receives an order confirmation by email.
Rhizome Ceramics reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order in exceptional circumstances, including:
- products being unavailable,
- incorrect pricing due to technical errors,
- suspected fraud or misuse of the webshop.
If an order is cancelled after payment has been received, the customer will receive a full refund.
4. Prices and Payment
All prices displayed on the webshop are in euros (€) and include applicable VAT, unless stated otherwise.
Shipping costs are clearly displayed before completing the order.
Payment can be made using the payment methods available during checkout.
An order will only be processed after successful receipt of payment.
5. Shipping and Delivery
Orders are shipped to the delivery address provided by the customer during checkout.
We aim to process and ship orders within:
5 business days
Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to circumstances outside our control, such as postal delays, holidays, or customs procedures.
Once the package has been handed over to the shipping provider, delivery responsibility transfers according to applicable Belgian and European consumer protection rules.
Customers are responsible for providing a correct delivery address.
6. Risk of Damage During Delivery
Ceramic products are fragile and are carefully packaged to reduce the risk of damage during transport.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 5 days after delivery with:
- your order number,
- photos of the damaged packaging,
- photos of the damaged product.
We will review the situation and, where appropriate, offer a replacement, repair, or refund.
7. Right of Withdrawal (Returns)
In accordance with Belgian and European consumer legislation, consumers generally have the right to withdraw from a purchase made online within 14 days after receiving the goods.
To exercise this right, customers must notify:

within the withdrawal period.
The customer must return the products unused, undamaged, and in their original packaging.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise required by law.
Refunds will be processed after receiving the returned goods or proof of shipment.
8. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products that are:
- made according to the customer’s specifications,
- personalised or customised,
- clearly personalised handmade commissions.
If a product has been damaged after delivery due to incorrect handling by the customer, the right of withdrawal may not apply.
9. Faulty or Incorrect Products
If you receive a product that is defective, incorrect, or damaged, please contact us as soon as possible.
Legal warranty rights under Belgian consumer law remain applicable.
Natural characteristics of handmade ceramics, such as minor variations in glaze or shape, are not considered defects.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this webshop, including:
- photographs,
- product designs,
- texts,
- logos,
- graphics,
is owned by or licensed to Rhizome Ceramics.
Content may not be copied, reproduced, or used without prior written permission.
11. Privacy and Data Protection
Personal information provided during ordering is processed in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Customer information is used only for:
- processing orders,
- delivering products,
- providing customer service,
- fulfilling legal obligations.

Rhizome Ceramics is not liable for indirect damages resulting from the use of purchased products, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
Customers are responsible for using ceramic products appropriately and following any care instructions provided.
14. Applicable Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Belgian law.
Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Belgian courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights.
15. Changes to These Terms
Rhizome Ceramics reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
The version applicable to an order is the version available on the webshop at the time the order is placed.
